Who is Professor Eldrin Nightshade?
Professor Nightshade is our beloved fictional alchemist and brand persona—a whimsical character who serves as the voice and spirit of The Seventh Atelier. Created to delight our customers with fantastic tales and imaginative storytelling, the Professor's adventures inspire our unique tea and coffee blends. While he may not actually exist in a mystical workshop (or does he?), his passion for exceptional brews and enchanting stories is very real!
Are your products actually magical?
While we'd love to claim genuine alchemical powers, our product names and descriptions use fantastical language for creative storytelling and entertainment purposes only. We don't imply actual magical effects—but we do promise exceptional quality, carefully crafted flavors, and a tea-drinking experience that feels a little bit magical. The real magic is in the taste!
What does "The Seventh Atelier" mean?
An atelier is a workshop or studio, especially one used by an artist or designer. "The Seventh" adds a touch of mystery and magic—it's the seventh workshop, the seventh attempt, the seventh realm. It evokes the idea of a hidden place where creativity and craft come together to create something extraordinary.
What is your brand aesthetic?
We embrace a dark academia aesthetic blended with fantasy storytelling and vintage alchemical charm. Think cozy libraries, candlelit workshops, ancient recipe books, and a touch of whimsy. Our packaging, imagery, and stories are designed to transport you to Professor Nightshade's world.

What types of products do you offer?
We offer premium herbal teas, specialty coffee blends, loose leaf selections, decorative jars, and thoughtfully curated gift sets. Each product is inspired by a story, character, or fantastical concept from Professor Nightshade's world.
Are your teas and coffees organic?
We source high-quality ingredients and prioritize quality in every blend. For specific ingredient sourcing and certifications, please check individual product descriptions or contact us directly.
Do your products contain caffeine?
It depends on the blend! Our herbal teas are typically caffeine-free, while our coffee blends naturally contain caffeine. Some tea blends may contain tea leaves (black, green, or white tea) which do contain caffeine. Each product description includes caffeine information to help you choose the right blend for your needs.
How should I store my tea and coffee?
Store your tea and coffee in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture, and strong odors. Our decorative jars are designed to keep your blends fresh! For loose leaf teas, airtight containers work best. Properly stored, most teas stay fresh for 1-2 years, while coffee is best enjoyed within a few months of opening.
How do I brew the perfect cup?
Each product includes brewing instructions, but here are some general guidelines:
- Herbal Tea: Use 1-2 teaspoons per 8 oz of water, steep for 5-7 minutes in boiling water
- Black Tea: Use 1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water, steep for 3-5 minutes at 200-212°F
- Green Tea: Use 1 teaspoon per 8 oz of water, steep for 2-3 minutes at 160-180°F
- Coffee: Follow your preferred brewing method; we recommend a 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio
Can I drink your teas if I'm pregnant or have health conditions?
While our herbal teas are made with natural ingredients, we always recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before consuming herbal products if you're pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have any health conditions. Some herbs may interact with medications or may not be suitable during pregnancy.
Do you offer samples or smaller sizes?
Check our product pages for available sizes! We occasionally offer sample sets and smaller portions to help you discover your new favorite blend before committing to a larger size.
Orders & Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Shipping times vary depending on your location:
- Domestic (US): 3-7 business days for standard shipping
- Expedited options: Available at checkout for faster delivery
- International: 7-21 business days depending on destination
You'll receive tracking information via email once your order ships.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! We ship to select international destinations. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by location. Please note that international customers may be responsible for customs fees, duties, or taxes imposed by their country.
How do I track my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking information. You can use the tracking number to monitor your package's journey. If you don't receive tracking info within 2-3 business days of ordering, please contact us.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or make changes to your order. We process orders quickly to get your tea to you faster, so we can only accommodate changes if your order hasn't been fulfilled yet. Reach out to us immediately for the best chance of making modifications.
My order arrived damaged. What should I do?
We're so sorry to hear that! Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damaged items and packaging. We'll work quickly to send you a replacement or issue a refund.
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of purchase for unopened products in their original condition. Due to the nature of food and beverage products, we cannot accept returns on opened items unless there's a quality issue.
To initiate a return, please contact us with your order number and reason for return. We'll provide you with return instructions and a return authorization.
What if I receive the wrong item or there's a quality issue?
If you receive an incorrect item or there's a quality issue with your product, please contact us immediately. We'll make it right with a replacement or full refund. Your satisfaction is our priority!
How long do refunds take?
Once we receive your returned item, refunds are typically processed within 5-7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund.
Gift Sets & Special Occasions
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Many of our products come in beautiful, giftable packaging! Check individual product pages for gift set options. We also offer decorative jars that make stunning presents without additional wrapping needed.
Can I include a gift message?
Yes! During checkout, you can add a gift message that we'll include with your order. Let us know if you'd like us to omit the receipt as well.
Do you offer corporate or bulk orders?
Yes! We'd love to work with you on corporate gifts, wedding favors, or bulk orders. Please contact us directly to discuss your needs, and we'll create a custom quote for you.

Do you have a physical store location?
The Seventh Atelier is currently online-only, operating from Los Angeles, CA. This allows us to focus on crafting exceptional blends and shipping them directly to tea lovers everywhere! There is talk of a future cafe- we are currently seeking out a wealthy benefactor (know anyone?).
